The Transportation and Airport Committee reviews ordinances governing ground transportation and parking issues, including the requirements and rates of "for hire" vehicles; reviews regulations regarding parking, speed limits, and the use of public streets; reviews ordinances and proposals related to public transit; and makes recommendations on these issues to the Council prior to its consideration of these matters. The committee also enhances regional communications and cooperates with the Councils of the City of Kenner and St. Charles Parish on issues related to the Louis Armstrong International Airport; reviews ordinances and agreements related to the Airport and makes recommendations on these matters to the Council.
