NEW ORLEANS - Councilmembers Jason Williams and Jared Brossett, alongside Orleans Public Defenders and The Juror Project, are launching the Know Your Rights series this Friday, Oct. 19 with the United in Our Rights: Empowering Equality Forum. The event, which is taking place in conjunction with Dillard University's 12th Annual Housing, Health and Community Resources Fair, is free and open to the public.

NEW ORLEANS - District "D" Councilmember Jared Brossett will join City and State officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Nora Navra library at 1902 St. Bernard Avenue on Friday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. The $3.3M reconstruction project, which began in March of 2017, represents a critical investment in the 7th Ward and the St. Bernard Avenue Corridor communities.

Orleans Parish Tax Rolls Open Through Wednesday, Aug. 15

Orleans Parish property owners wishing to contest the assessment on their property may do so through Wednesday, Aug.15 with the Orleans Parish Assessor's Office. Property owners may visit any of the office's three locations: the fourth floor of City Hall at 1300 Perdido St., the first floor of the Algiers Courthouse at 225 Morgan St., or the second floor of the Lakeview Christian Center at 5885 Fleur De Lis Drive.

Upcoming Community Adaptation Program Meeting for Gentilly Residents

The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) will be hosting a community workshop for Gentilly residents to discuss the Community Adaptation Program (CAP), announced at Tuesday's press conference. Residents are encouraged to attend the event taking place at 10 a.m. this Saturday, July 21 at Dillard University to learn more about the CAP and how to apply for residential stormwater management interventions of up to $25,000.

New Orleans Redevelopment Authority Accepting Applications for New Orleans Tricentennial Lots To Celebrate Program

New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) is accepting applications through August 17, 2018, for its New Orleans Tricentennial: Lots To Celebrate initiative. The program supports the creation and implementation of temporary public art and community event projects sited on NORA-owned vacant lots throughout Orleans Parish.
