Reach out to your neighbors, especially the elderly, and offer to pick up food for them if possible.

District E Food Banks and Meal Distribution Sites Week of April 13 - April 17, 2020

NEW ORLEANSCouncilwoman Nguyen would like to make residents aware of the food pantries and meal distribution sites this week in District E. 

Many of these sites would not run without volunteers. If you have not been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 in at least two weeks and are not showing any symptoms, please consider volunteering to help feed District E residents in need.

New Orleans City Council Asks USDA for Disaster Household Distribution Program Approval

NEW ORLEANS - Today, District "E" Councilwoman Cyndi Nguyen and the New Orleans City Council sent a letter to the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue asking for approval of the Louisiana Disaster Household Distribution Program for 30 days. If approved, this would allow local food banks to access critical reserves that cannot be used without this declaration.
