NEW ORLEANS - Utilities Committee Chair Helena Moreno, Council Sewerage and Water Board (S&WB) Appointee Jay H. Banks, and Public Works Committee Chair Joe Giarrusso have issued the following statement regarding Entergy and the New Orleans Power Station (NOPS):

"Since taking office last May, this Council has relentlessly fought on behalf of Entergy New Orleans and Sewerage Water Board (S&WB) customers. We continue to review all aspects of service and business practices by S&WB and Entergy to determine how they can better serve New Orleanians.

NEW ORLEANS - Tonight, the Council Utilities Regulatory Office (CURO) signaled it had received the final report from the Independent Investigators engaged by the Council to investigate the tactics used by Entergy during the New Orleans Power Station (NOPS) public comment period last spring.

Utilities Committee Receives Rate Case Application; Sets Schedule for Negotiation

NEW ORLEANS - Today, the New Orleans City Council Utilities Committee (UCTTC) formally received Entergy New Orleans' (ENO) application for a change in electric and gas rates (the "rate case") and set up the nearly year-long procedural schedule necessary to ensure adequate study and comment from the public.
