District "E" Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen to Celebrate Trico Grand Opening at Upcoming Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

NEW ORLEANS - District "E" Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen will join Trico Heavy Duty Parts & Service and other local residents and community partners for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at 10 a.m. in New Orleans East. Councilmember Nguyen is encouraging both media and members of the public to attend the grand opening celebration, which will include a free barbecue as well as door prizes and store credits.

Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen to Participate in Upcoming Sleep Out Event to End Homelessness in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS - On Nov. 15, 2018, District "E" Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen will sleep on the street in the hopes that someday, New Orleans youth will no longer have to. Through this act of solidarity, Councilmember Nguyen and thousands across the country will join the 4.2 million young people who experience homelessness each year. Sleep Out is a nationwide initiative of Covenant House to raise funds and awareness to end youth homelessness and trafficking.

Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen Urges Residents to Take Necessary Measures to Aid First Responders in Times of Emergency

NEW ORLEANS - Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen is encouraging District "E" residents assist first responders in times of emergency. It has been brought to the attention of the District "E" staff that there are currently a large number of nonexistent, indecipherable or incorrect house signs around New Orleans East. This is a very serious issue, as it impedes New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) and emergency personnel from locating residents in need in a timely manner.

Upcoming Community Forum on Climate & Equity for District E Residents

NEW ORLEANS - Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen is encouraging District E residents in the Lower Ninth Ward to attend a free community lunch forum on climate change on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at 12 p.m. The Community Forum on Climate & Equity is part of a joint endeavor between the City of New Orleans, Greater New Orleans Foundation, Deep South Center for Environmental Justice and Gulf Coast Center for Law & Policy to develop city-wide solutions to address climate change and learn about work being done to improve conditions in our neighborhoods.

Upcoming Coffee & Conversation Events with Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen

NEW ORLEANS - Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen is encouraging District "E" residents to come out to her monthly Coffee & Conversation events tomorrow, Sept. 15, 2018, as part of her ongoing commitment to community engagement. Guest speakers from NOLA 311 will also be in attendance to discuss the progress of their department. The New Orleans East Library meeting will take place from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and the Martin Luther King Library meeting will follow from 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
