NEW ORLEANS - Governor John Bel Edwards has declared a statewide state of emergency in connection with recent cyberattacks on three school systems. Mayor LaToya Cantrell has issued an alert to all "residents, organizations, and businesses to review their cyber security protocols and to remain vigilant."

NEW ORLEANS - Orleans Parish property owners wishing to contest the assessment on their property may do so now with the Orleans Parish Assessor's Office at any of its three locations: the fourth floor of City Hall at 1300 Perdido St., the first floor of the Algiers Courthouse at 225 Morgan St., or the second floor of the Lakeview Christian Center at 5885 Fleur De Lis Drive.

Councilmember Jared Brossett and Crimestoppers Partner to Launch "Lock It or Lose It" Awareness Campaign

NEW ORLEANS - District "D" Councilmember Jared C. Brossett and Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans have partnered to launch a public awareness campaign aimed at preventing car break-ins and theft throughout the city. The campaign will raise awareness surrounding vehicle break-ins, urging citizens to lock their vehicles and conceal items left inside. Councilmember Brossett and Crimestoppers have "Lock It or Lose It" yard signs available for residents, associations and organizations interested in participating. Additionally, Crimestoppers will provide postcards, key chains, and window decals as a reminder to "Lock It or Lose It."

NEW ORLEANS - District "D" Councilmember Jared Brossett has issued the following statement regarding New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) programs for local teenagers and juvenile justice following today's press conference with Mayor LaToya Cantrell:

"I applaud and support Mayor Cantrell's efforts to reduce the overall crime in the City, especially the significant increase in juvenile crime that's occurred over the past six months. Crime has had a substantial impact on District "D," and I know my constituents are tired of being victims.
