NEW ORLEANS, LA – At its regular meeting on April 9th, the New Orleans City Council adopted several different servitudes. These servitudes allow property owners to legally retain or use encroachments, such as a portion of a building, a balcony, or another structure, that extend into the public right-of-way, as well as to generate annual revenue for the City. The Council also adopted a resolution in support of the goals and ideals of “National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day” and other pieces of legislation.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – At its regular meeting today, the City Council adopted an ordinance as amended requiring criminal justice agencies to use the current enterprise resource planning system (BRASS) to better track spending. The Council also passed a resolution that supports the creation of the West End Economic Development District in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes through Louisiana House Bill 892, along with several other pieces of legislation.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – At its regular meeting on March 12, 2026, the City Council adopted legislation to establish the official polling location for the May 16, 2026, election taking place in Ward 13, Precinct 8. The Council also adopted a resolution directing Entergy New Orleans (ENO) to submit updated guidelines within 45 days that clarify when Direct Transfer Trip (DTT) equipment is required for community solar projects, among other matters.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – At its regular meeting on Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Council adopted several pieces of legislation, including an ordinance to establish a temporary “Special Event Clean Zone” from June 29 to July 6, 2026, within a designated area of New Orleans during the 2026 ESSENCE Festival of Culture. Additionally, the Council adopted an ordinance to amend the 2026 Capital Budget to reallocate $750,000 in bond funding to the Department of Parks and Parkways for the Louis Armstrong Park Master Plan, along with several other pieces of legislation.
