NEW ORLEANS, LA - On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Governmental Affairs Committee met to review several personnel appointments, discuss a Professional Service Agreement with Aptim Environmental and Infrastructure, LLC, and consider three amendments to previous Professional Service Agreements. The Committee also reviewed and approved two ordinances regarding the City Code.

NEW ORLEANS, LA - On Thursday, September 18, 2025, the Governmental Affairs Committee met to discuss several legislative items, including Motion No. M-25-469, two amendments to Professional Services Agreements, multiple appointments to city commissions, and a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement (CEA) between the City and PBP, LLC.

NEW ORLEANS – On Friday, September 5, 2025, the Governmental Affairs Committee convened to discuss federal funding concerns for the Housing Authority of New Orleans following the suspension of Mayor LaToya Cantrell from participating in procurement and non-procurement transactions with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

NEW ORLEANS - On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the Governmental Affairs Committee moved to forward the appointments of several new members to different organizations for Council approval. Additionally, the Committee moved to report a motion favorably to the Council. This motion would amend Rule 55.b of the Council Rules and Regulations to limit drivers of Council vehicles.

NEW ORLEANS - On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the Governmental Affairs Committee met with members of the Police Department and the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (NOHSEP) to discuss parade route safety, City Code violations during the 2025 carnival season. The Committee also recommended for approval Ordinance No. 35,160 and discussed several other ordinances related to the carnival season.
