NEW ORLEANS - In response to recent concerns regarding increases in property assessments, Councilman Green wants to make clear to the public that Orleans Parish property owners will not necessarily see an increase in their property taxes, although they may have seen an increase in their quadrennial tax assessments.

This is a quadrennial reassessment year. As reported, the average property value has shot up by 23%. Residents are already burdened with skyrocketing insurance rates, higher utility costs, and increased costs for goods and services. They have been writing us to say they are tapped out.
