City Council Announces RFP for Accounting Firm to Oversee SWBNO Billing Complaints

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans City Council, after collaborating with Mayor
Cantrell and the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO), announces
the release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to hire an independent accounting firm
to oversee and handle SWBNO’s billing process and billing complaints for the next 12
to 18 months.

Council President Moreno Celebrates Arrival of Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine

NEW ORLEANS - Today, Council President Helena Moreno celebrated the arrival of Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine, only the sixth HBCU medical school in the country, to the City of New Orleans. The new college of medicine at Xavier will advance the work of what is already the nation’s premier academic training center for medical professionals of color. Xavier already graduates more African-American students and students of color who achieve Medical Degrees and Ph.D’s in health sciences than any other educational institution in the nation.

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans City Council Budget Chair Joseph I. Giarrusso III and Chief
Administrative Officer Gilbert Montaño have collaborated to introduce an amendment to
the 2024 Proposed Executive Budget after weeks of working with Mayor LaToya Cantrell's
administration, the City Council, New Orleans residents, and stakeholders.
