Councilmember Palmer to Host Two Drive-Thru Food Pantries in Algiers and Treme

NEW ORLEANS- In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer will host two food pantries for families and individuals impacted by COVID-19 on Friday, September 18 and Saturday 19. No documentation is required to receive a food pantry box, and walk-ups are welcome. Volunteers are also needed to continue the emergency food distribution sites. If you would like to assist, call (504) 658-1030 between Monday - Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM.

NEW ORLEANS- District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer issues the following statement regarding Mayor LaToya Cantrell's plans to make the French Quarter more pedestrian centric:

"As a long-time advocate for safer, more equitable streets and public spaces, I have welcomed the Mayor's efforts to reimagine a French Quarter with reduced motor vehicle traffic and increased access for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Councilmember Palmer to Continue Drive-Thru Food Pantries in District C Until Further Notice

NEW ORLEANS- Despite a reduction in emergency federal funding, Second Harvest Food Bank will continue to provide food for the weekly food pantries hosted by District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer until further notice. However, beginning this week, families and individuals will be required to share income and household size to ensure families meet the income threshold.

Councilmember Palmer and Partners to Host Food Pantries This Friday and Saturday

NEW ORLEANS- District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer would like to remind residents that she will host two food pantries for families and individuals impacted by COVID-19 on Friday, August 28, and Saturday, August 29. On Friday, the food pantry will be held at the Arthur Monday Center in Algiers and on Saturday, at the Mahalia Jackson.

NEW ORLEANS - District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer will host a virtual meeting to discuss pedestrianization plans for the French Quarter. The public meeting will give residents an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns about the City's process of exploring the idea of making the French Quarter more pedestrian-centric.
