NEW ORLEANS - With assistance from Second Harvest Food Bank, Evacuteer and Culture Aid NOLA, District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer will continue providing a drive-up food pantry for hospitality and gig economy workers affected by COVID-19 next week.

Councilmember Kristin Palmer Responds to the Regional Transit Authority Announcement of a Charter Ferry Service

District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer issued the following statement in response to the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) announcement of a charter ferry service: 

"I'm pleased that the RTA heeded calls to hire a charter ferry service, helping to restore a vital link in our public transit system. Residents and visitors on both sides of the river benefit from ferry service in a number of ways, and I am happy that the RTA stood by its pledge in front of the City Council to get service up and running within seven days of hiring a new ferry operator."

New Orleans City Council Approves Two Key Funding Priorities for Algiers by Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer

NEW ORLEANS - At today's meeting, the Council approved funding for two priorities of District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer. The Council passed a motion (M-19-482) declaring Higgins Gate, a blighted apartment complex located at 2646 Westbend Parkway, "an imminent threat to public safety and property and a public emergency and appropriating $800,000 for the immediate clean-up of the site. Additionally, the 2020 Budget approved by the Council today provides $250,000 for a comprehensive water management plan for Algiers.
