Councilmember Palmer and Partners Cancel Algiers Clean Sweep Event Due to Inclement Weather

NEW ORLEANS - District “C” Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer, Algiers Economic Development Foundation (AEDF) and Crescent Towing announced today that "Algiers Clean Sweep" is canceled tomorrow,  Saturday, April 17, due to inclement weather. Councilmember Palmer is working with organizers to come up with another date to host the clean-up event in Algiers. 

 

Algiers Clean Sweep, a community-led initiative to clean up, beautify, and reduce blight in Algiers, was created by Councilmember Palmer and AEDF in 2020. They organized their first "clean sweep" in November 2020, recycling 400 old tires and glass and clearing seven blighted and vacant lots.
