Jon Johnson Develops Plan for Recovery in Council District E

Seal of the City of New Orleans

New Orleans, LA - May 3, 2010 - Jon Johnson developed a ten-point plan for the recovery of Council District E. The plan highlights the ongoing hard work and dedication of District E residents to rebuild their neighborhoods and communities from the damage caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Gustav.

The plan addresses ten focus areas for residents, community leaders and elected officials to focus on while working for the full recovery of the district. The focus areas are crime, economic development, education, housing, health care, environment, infrastructure, ethics, recreation and government services.

The plan makes specific, detailed recommendations of ways to address challenges in each focus area, with an overall goal of restoring the quality of life for all residents in District E. To view Jon Johnson’s 10-Point Plan for a Citizen-Driven Recovery for Council District E, click here.

Johnson said, “This plan clearly addresses the many challenges faced by residents and community members in District E. It is my hope that this plan can serve as a guiding framework not only for the City’s elected officials, but also for those engaged community groups, neighborhood organizations and citizens working day-to-day to bring all areas of District E back.”
