NEW ORLEANS - District "C" Councilmember Kristin Palmer will hold a special Transportation and Airport Committee Meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. to discuss the Canal Street Ferry Terminal and Pedestrian Bridge Project. The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is overseeing the project, which includes replacing the current ferry terminal that sits between the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas and the Spanish Plaza. The pedestrian bridge will be designed and implemented separately. Councilmember Palmer will be addressing issues concerning funding for the project.

During the meeting, there will also be an update on the Connect the Crescent initiative, an ongoing campaign to connect bike paths across the city and parish lines.
