NEW ORLEANS- District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, World Central Kitchen and Culture Aid Nola will host two food pantries this week for families and individuals impacted by COVID-19. There are two locations, the Arthur Monday Center on the Westbank in Algiers (Friday, August 7) and the Mahalia Jackson Theatre (Saturday, August 8) on Basin Street. Since March, the food pantries have provided more than 348,780 pounds of food and 76,000 individual meals to residents across the city.
As a reminder, no documentation is required to receive a food pantry box, and walk-ups are welcome. Volunteers are needed to continue the emergency food distribution sites. If you would like to assist, call (504) 658-1030 between Monday - Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM.
