NEW ORLEANS - Tomorrow, December 5, from 8 AM - 11:30 AM, the NOLA Tree Project and the City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways will host "The Big TREEsy Giveaway" to provide 700 free trees to Orleans Parish residents. During the event, each individual will receive one free tree with 35 types of trees available to choose from (please note: these are not Christmas trees). Residents will be required to show a picture ID and will have the option to purchase an extra tree for just $15.
To ensure compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, giveaway participants must wear a mask at all times and abide by the event's safety protocols to limit the number of people in the space at a given time.
Presented by Entergy in partnership with the Audubon Nature Institute, the event will also feature a special tree planting workshop. This year's Big TREEsy Giveaway is sponsored by District "D" Councilmember Jared C. Brossett, The Apache Foundation, Bayou Tree Service, and the City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways.
