Councilmember Jason Williams Releases Video on Multi-Trillion Dollar Federal Stimulus Package Approved to Provide Support During COVID-19
NEW ORLEANS - Council Vice President Jason Williams believes local government has a continued responsibility to ensure that New Orleans residents receive their portion of available resources.

In a recently released video, Williams explains key components of the package, including:
  • Direct stimulus payments & unemployment benefits for individuals and families;
  • Partially forgivable loan programs;
  • Tax breaks available to businesses;
  • Mortgage relief options, and more.
Of the video, Williams states, "As a father of three, small business owner and City Councilmember, the CARES Act has myriad implications that I've had to consider and wrap my mind around. I used my own research to create a summary video, and I hope it helps others. The people and businesses of New Orleans, already reeling from the shockwaves this pandemic has caused worldwide, need access to basic answers without delay."
