Councilmember Brossett Joins The Cheek Law Firm and St. Augustine to Launch The Cheek Law Firm Scholarship and Emergency Assistance Fund
NEW ORLEANS - District "D" Councilmember Jared Brossett has partnered with The Cheek Law Firm and St. Augustine High School to create "The Cheek Law Firm Scholarship and Emergency Assistance Fund" to provide much-needed support during this pandemic. The fund will function as a dollar for dollar donation to St. Augustine High School, specifically in two areas of support: Scholarship Awards driven by academic achievement and Emergency Assistance funding for families experiencing unforeseen challenges caused by COVID-19.

Councilmember Brossett and partners are encouraging members of the community and St. Augustine Alumni to join them in this amazing opportunity to combat the negative effects of coronavirus in our community and provide young men with an opportunity to garner an equitable education. The fund is committed to matching all donations (up to $12,500) submitted by May 31, 2020, dollar for dollar, representing a potential $25,000+ donation.  Please know, no amount is too big, and no amount is too small when making a real and lasting difference in our community.

"As we deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, it helps to know that you have partners who are willing to help do special things to help people in need. This is why I am thankful to have partnered with Lindsey Cheek of The Cheek Law Firm and St. Augustine High School to create The Cheek Law Firm Scholarship and Emergency Assistance Fund. This fund gives young men at this prestigious school an opportunity to garner a quality education at a time when many of our friends and neighbors are in need," said Councilmember Jared C. Brossett. "This is a dollar for dollar donation to St. Augustine in two areas, academic achievement and emergency assistance funding for families experiencing unforeseen challenges caused by COVID-19. As everyone knows, the Purple Knights are a special breed, and thanks to Lindsey Creek, who always has made a commitment to giving back to the city of New Orleans, students will benefit for years to come."
