Media Advisory: Agenda Highlights for Regular Council Meeting on October 4, 2018

What: Among the items to be heard at tomorrow's regular meeting of the City Council:

  • The Council will receive a special presentation from local experts, professionals and advocates on Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
  • The Council will consider establishing the Algiers Riverfront Interim Zoning District.
  • The Council will consider approving grant funds per Council district through the City Council/Cox Communications Louisiana's Community Grant Program. 
  • The Council will consider an ordinance relative to reporting requirements for all City boards.
  • The Council will consider an ordinance to amend the City Code relative to sanitation roll carts to clarify which times they may be placed on curbs for trash removal.
  • The Council will consider a "Ban the Box" ordinance to establish fair chance hiring standards within the City of New Orleans by limiting the consideration of an applicant's criminal history.
  • The Council will consider a conditional use to permit an indoor amusement facility with standard restaurant, bar, and live entertainment at 1152 Magazine St.
  • The Council will consider an ordinance to amend the City Code relative to the refund of cash bond.
  • Additionally, the Council will honor late musician Tim Green and receive a presentation on efforts to revitalize blighted properties on Canal Street.
