NEW ORLEANS - This year, Christmas will look a little different in District "E" and across the entire City of New Orleans. Our annual holiday traditions, along with many aspects of our daily life, will need to change due to COVID-19. For the last two years, Councilmember Cyndi Nguyen and partners have put on the Jingle on the Boulevard Parade in District E, with the inaugural Jingle Ball in 2019. According to Councilwoman Nguyen, while her office fully intends to host that event again in the future, right now they are pivoting to keep families and friends safe this holiday season.
"I am so proud to announce that this year, we will host a Drive-Thru Jingle on the Boulevard and Toy Delivery," said Councilwoman Nguyen. "Throughout the month of December, I will be driving down every street in District E and delivering gifts to children along the way to continue to spread some much-needed holiday cheer and excitement while protecting our loved ones from COVID-19."
For many families, this holiday season has brought with it anxiety over how to ensure their children can still have a happy, safe and Merry Christmas.
Councilwoman Nguyen continued, "My husband Sean and I understand, and I will do all I can as your Councilmember to assist families this holiday season. If you are in need of assistance to provide gifts for your children this year, please go to www.jingleontheboulevard.com and fill out the form to get your children on the list to receive gifts this Christmas. District E families will be given priority, but we will work hard to fill every request. The link will close on October 31, so please be sure to complete the form as soon as possible."
