City Council President Jason Williams Welcomes American College of Trial Lawyers to New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS - City Council President Jason Williams is honored to welcome the distinguished and revered American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) to New Orleans. The ACTL is an invitation-only fellowship of exceptional trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds from the United States and Canada. The College thoroughly investigates each nominee for admission and selects only those who have demonstrated the very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism and collegiality.  The College maintains and seeks to improve the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice through education and public statements on important legal issues relating to its mission.

The 2018 Annual Meeting of the ACTL is being held this year at The Roosevelt Hotel. Councilmember Williams provided Friday's opening remarks welcoming the internationally recognized group to the city. Williams was selected as a fellow in 2016 for the ACTL.

"I am honored to welcome the College to New Orleans during such an exciting time for us," said Councilmember Williams. "I am proud to report that the collective social justice consciousness is alive and well in New Orleans and in Louisiana. It is focused on making sure the next 300 years here are better than the last 300. I believe we as lawyers are the defenders of human rights and am honored to welcome you to the city I love and work in every day."
