Council to Hold Peace Rally Tomorrow on Front Steps of City Hall

NEW ORLEANS - Councilmembers will join students from across the city for an anti-gun violence peace rally on the front steps of City Hall tomorrow, Sept. 20th at 10:30 a.m. Students will march from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome beginning at 9:30 a.m. in response to the shooting death of 15-year-old Eleanor McMain student Chance Smith. The march will conclude in front of New Orleans City Hall where Councilmembers will participate in a rally to support ending gun violence throughout the city. Additional speakers will include students and school leaders from InspireNOLA Charter Schools, Warren Easton High School, Algiers Charter Schools and St. Augustine High School.
