Councilmember Palmer to Continue Drive-Thru Food Pantries in District C Until Further Notice

NEW ORLEANS- Despite a reduction in emergency federal funding, Second Harvest Food Bank will continue to provide food for the weekly food pantries hosted by District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer until further notice. However, beginning this week, families and individuals will be required to share income and household size to ensure families meet the income threshold.

Second Harvest Food Bank is the leading food source provider for food banks across the city, including District C's two weekly food distributions. With additional meals and volunteers from World Central Kitchen and Culture Aid NOLA, the food distribution sites in District C have provided more than 412,379 pounds of food and donated 99,000 meals to residents financially impacted by COVID-19.
