NEW ORLEANS, LA — Councilmember Hughes is hosting two community meetings to gather resident input regarding the proposed sanitation fee increase. The meetings will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about the proposal, ask questions and share feedback before further consideration of the fee increase.

NEW ORLEANS, LA - On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the Council held a Joint Budget/Audit/Board of Review and Governmental Affairs Committee meeting to discuss the latest financial update from the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Additionally, the committee voted on an ordinance regarding periodic reporting on the New Orleans Police Department's (NOPD) drone use, among other matters.

At the start of the meeting, committee members entered Executive Session to discuss ongoing litigation.
