Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer Encourages Citizens to Participate in Short-Term Rental Public Hearing

NEW ORLEANS - A public hearing for comments on the City Planning Commission's (CPCs) Short-Term Rentals (STRs) study has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at 3 p.m. The hearing is in accordance with requirements of Motion M-18-194 authored by District "C" Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer and approved by the full Council on May 25.

"Public input is vital to determine future laws and regulations for the city's STR program," said Councilmember Palmer. "Having a variety of perspectives at the CPC hearing will help the commission create a comprehensive guide that will ensure any actions the Council takes on STRs is based on sound research and data."

The public hearing will follow the CPCs regular zoning meeting on July 10 at 1:30 p.m. with public comments expected to begin at 3 p.m. The CPC announced the hearing will end within two hours or until the last speaker. Written comments may be submitted to the CPC Executive Director in advance by mail before Monday, August 20 to 1300 Perdido Street, 7th Floor, New Orleans, LA 70112, or by email at cpcinfor@nola.gov.
