NEW ORLEANS - City Council President Helena Moreno has released the following statement in regards to federal stimulus aid and the establishment of a new Stimulus Command Task Force:

“I support the Mayor in lifting furloughs and fully restoring city services. This has been a challenging time, but we are turning the corner and preparing for a tremendous recovery. I look forward to the work ahead of the newly created Stimulus Command Task Force and appreciate the opportunity to serve as part of this group. The incoming federal dollars will be spent prudently in a transparent matter, putting our most pressing needs first, helping people get back to work, and lifting up our small homegrown businesses. I believe this city will experience a revival that other cities will use as a model. Tough work is head, but I am filled with optimism for what’s in store for New Orleans.”
