NEW ORLEANS - Tonight, the Council Utilities Regulatory Office (CURO) signaled it had received the final report from the Independent Investigators engaged by the Council to investigate the tactics used by Entergy during the New Orleans Power Station (NOPS) public comment period last spring.
"Transparency is critical to this process. I believe it is important for the public to be able to view the report and supporting documents that have been provided to the Council. This information will provide the Council and its advisers a basis on necessary next steps," said Councilmember Helena Moreno.
Council President Jason Williams can now call a special Council meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 31st at 1 p.m. to formally receive the report and hear testimony from the investigators. A formal letter, public notice, and agenda will follow shortly.
Utilities Chair Moreno will be making brief comments at the opening of the meeting in response to the report and will then preside over the presentation and subsequent steps.
The report can be found here. All supporting documents can be found here.
