Residents Affected by Hurricane Ida may be Eligible for Generator and Chainsaw Reimbursement

Those who purchased equipment during the specified timeframe may receive up to $800 for generators and up to $250 for chainsaws. 


NEW ORLEANS - District "D" Councilmember Jared C. Brossett is encouraging residents to examine their expenses following the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, as FEMA is reimbursing individuals for the cost of generators and chainsaws.

NEW ORLEANS - District "D" Councilmember Jared C. Brossett is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank on Tuesday, September 7 at 1 PM to distribute prepared meals, sandwiches, other groceries, and water to residents impacted by Hurricane Ida at St. Mary of the Angels. No documentation required, and the distribution will take place until supplies run out.

Councilmember Brossett Brings Two Disaster Relief Funding Ordinances to the Council that Pass Unanimously

In today’s emergency meeting, the Council gathered to pass disaster relief funding to be reimbursed by FEMA to begin the recovery process. 


NEW ORLEANS - Today, District "D" Councilmember Jared C. Brossett brought ordinances 33,331 and 33,332 for a vote at the Council’s emergency meeting to discuss Hurricane Ida recovery. The measures to fund disaster relief that will be reimbursed by FEMA were passed unanimously.
